AVOIDING AUTO CAR DEALER SCAMS
by Ernest Grandle

If you are in the market for a new auto but dread heading
to the dealership in fear of being taken for a ride, and we
do not mean going for a test-drive, then this article will
help. Unfortunately, while there are many reputable
dealers that are experienced in the world of auto sales,
there are also those preying on the unsuspecting. When
buying a car, you want to feel confident and comfortable
during the buying process, as well as after driving your
new auto off the lot.

What you don't want to feel is scared and confused about
having to fight for what you want when buying your car. The
best defense against this is to bone up on your car buying
skills. Both you and the salesperson want to feel like you
both have gotten something from this relationship, no
matter how brief it may be.

You should study up on buying a car just as you would if
you were buying anything else that's expensive, say for
example a new washer & dryer or dishwasher. You would drive
around town checking out prices and who has the best deals.
You would be all over those new appliances, opening doors,
pushing buttons, kicking the tires, so to speak. So buying
a new or used car is no different.

One buying auto secret is the two best times to buy a new
car. The first time is at the end of December. Most people
don't think about buying a car this time of year because
they've got "jingle bell's" on their minds. Car dealers are
very eager to have people come in and will have all kinds
of incentives to get people interested. The second time
is between the months of July to October. New cars are
coming in so dealers want to get rid of last years
inventory. You can find some really good deals at this time,
sometimes up to $5 thousand off a new car.

Online is one good place to look for good car deals. Many
dealers will offer good rebates and dealer incentives.
There are also good websites that will help you choose a
good used car. These websites research certain used cars
on the market and check the history of these cars. Of
course you will not be buying a car online, you still need
to go for a test drive and such, but the Internet is a good
place to start and will save you from running all over the
place.

Last but not at all least, check out your credit score,
most of us know by now the better your credit score, the
better deal and interest rate you will receive on your new
car. If your credit is not so good, don't feel too bad,
you're not alone. You will be better prepared though to
probably pay a higher interest rate, that's the bad news.
The better news is that with this new car loan you will be
able to bring your credit score up, showing that just
because you may have gone through a bad time in the past,
today your a much better credit risk. Going to buy a new
car, armed with knowledge may get you the car you want at
a price that makes everyone feel like they've come out on
top.
